At three weeks into retirement, I’ve begun to shed the veneer of career and rediscover my underlying self, a person I’d only glimpsed occasionally in the last four decades. Yes, this emerging me is weather-beaten and due for maintenance, but the foundation seems solid enough — a good place to rebuild with the next 20 years in mind.
