Pool Reflection

Pool Reflection | Bellevue, WA | 2015

We are walking sacks of water, right? Scientists say human bodies are composed of 60% good ol’ H2O (babies are closer to 70%), with most of that sloshing around inside our cells. No wonder the majority of us like to swim. Wading into a pool is a return to our essence, a way to frolic in our primary ingredient, and a visit to our original environment (think womb). Never mind that water can be a deadly domain. To swim is to swap mediums — air to water — and then hope every breath is above the surface. You thumb your nose at biology and natural laws to dive 12-feet down to retrieve a quarter that someone (who’s not even in the pool!) dared you to fetch.
