My bat soul emerged while I pumped gas at a local station; my essential nature shaped by stacks of oil and anti-freeze. The projection gave me pause. I’m no crusader bent on justice in the Dark Knight-ly way: strong, courageous, passionate to do his duty. Yet those qualities live in us all, don’t they? Shades of heroism unmasked when we least expect them?
