Sooner or later your path will lead to the edge of an abyss — deep, dark and scary. You’ll be tempted to whip around and head for home. But across the chasm, far on the other side, something glows, something beckons. And turning back seems wrong. For days you hike the cliff edge in search of a way across, but the abyss only widens. Weary, exhausted, you stumble up a low rise for one more look before calling it quits, and there it is … a narrow, rickety catwalk that spans the gorge. Nothing perfect, mind you, and somewhat terrifying, but a definite way to move forward on life’s route. You steel yourself and take that first tentative step.
